This set of valve covers is on special because of cosmetic blemishes.

The first cover, which is the bottom cover in the picture, has a casting imperfection. There is a dip or lack of material on the top between the C and the H in CHEVROLET. There is a lot of porosity in the area, which is about 1 1/2 inches long. This is toward the intake manifold side of the cover.

On the second cover, which is the top cover in the picture, has a small blob of aluminum between the E and the V in the CHEVROLET script. There is a also a lot of porosity on the script and the polished part of the top.

Porosity is tiny holes and can be very hard to see. In the pictures, it looks like dots.

These covers can be machined for PCV and breather holes but this must be ordered over the phone and there is a machining charge. Review the CHECKLIST before ordering and for information about PCV and breather holes.

    A gasket is available.

For reference, see our regular Chevy™ Small Block, 1959 to 1986, CHEVROLET Script, PML Part Number 11106.

This special should fit and function like a regular part.

This is sold as-is and cannot be returned.

There is less material on the band above script on first valve cover. The dip in the casting surface is about 1 1/2 inch long and 1 inch wide. It is very gradual and difficult to show in a photograph but you can definitely feel it. Here are two pictures of the area:

There are small spots of porosity and added blob of aluminum on second cover. The small spots of porosity are all over the top of the script and polished surface areas on the top and some of the sides. Here are two views of the small blob:
