The valve covers are on special because of casting defects. Both covers have a bow or dip, one on the flange and one on the top.
One cover has a bow in the flange. The bow creates a gap of about 0.050 inches. A normal cover has a slight bow with a gap of 0.015 to 0.025 inches. We tested this cover on an original cylinder head using a PML gasket and it sealed fine. We do not know how this cover will work on a particular engine. PML gaskets must be used.
To purchase a set of PML gaskets, see PML cork composite gaskets.
The other cover has a bow in the top. This cover has been machined with a breather hole. A push in breather has been installed. The other cover can be machined, with a PCV hole for example. There would be a machining charge for this and it must be ordered over the phone. Link for PDF on PCV and breather holes.
Please read out CHECKLIST before ordering.
New mounting bolts, push-in breather, and oil fill tube are included.
For reference, see our regular Chevy Small Block, 1959 to 1986, CHEVROLET Script, PML Part Number 11106.
This special should fit and function like a regular part.
This is sold as-is and cannot be returned.
