    These valve covers are on special because of cosmetic defects. All polished sand cast aluminum parts have some cosmetic issues and porosity but this set has more than normal so the price is discounted.

    One cover has a defect in the lip below the BUICK script, the lip tapers, so it is not straight across. About 3 inches are slanted instead of straight. This area on the lip also has some discoloration. This cover also has a rough area in the casting next to the B and some porosity.

    The other cover has a large 1/16th inch porosity hole on the intake manifold side of the cover and a lot of small pinprick size porosity all over.

    A cork composite gasket is recommended and is available from PML: gasket for PML Buick Nailhead valve covers.

    This special should fit and function like a regular part.
