These valve covers are on special because of cosmetic defects.
One cover has a chip in the "v". This cover is at the bottom of the picture.
The other cover has a dark spot that was revealed during polishing. The spot is on the exhaust side in the smooth area under the C. It is about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
Also, the valve cover with the chipped v is darker in the area between the fins and the script.
There are normal marks from polishing near some of the bolt holes and similar.
A cork composite gasket is recommended and available from PML: 348/409 valve cover gasket

This special should fit and function like a regular part.
