Applications

The 6 speed AB60E, AB60F transmission may be found in Toyota and Lexus trucks and SUVs such as:

Toyota Landcruiser 5.7L, 2009 to 2015 — check for skid plate
Toyota Landcruiser Series 200 and Series 79 (Australia) — check for skid plate
Toyota Sequoia 5.7L, 2008 to 2018
Toyota Tundra 5.7L, 2007 to 2018, some 2019 and newer models
Lexus LX570 5.7 and some 4.5, 2008 to 2018

Always check your vehicle configuration and clearance before ordering. Verify that your vehicle has an AB60 transmission and has space for a larger aftermarket pan.

Some 2019 and newer models may have the new Toyota 10 speed transmission. Some have this 6 speed transmission. If your truck has the 10 speed transmission, this pan is NOT designed for the 10 speed transmission. PML is not yet making a pan for the Toyota 10 speed.

Vehicle with skid plates may not have space for this extra capacity transmission oil pan with the skid plate installed. A spacer for the skid plate may be possible.

This PML transmission pan will not work with the stock gasket. A gasket is included with the pan.

2017 Tundra with Skid Plate

Richard installed this pan on his 2017 Toyota Tundra Limited 5.7 with full skid plates. There was plenty of clearance between the skid plate and the bottom of the deeper PML pan.

2016 Tundra with Magnuson Supercharger

Carl installed this PML transmission pan on his 2016 Toyota Tundra 5.7 with a Magnuson Supercharger.

2008 Tundra 5.7L 4WD

Orsy installed this pan on his 2008 Tundra 4x4 iForce 5.7. The installation went smoothly and took about 1 1/2 hours.

2008 Tundra 5.7L Crew Max 4x4 AB60F

Steve installed this PML transmission oil pan on his 2008 Tundra. When he was removing the stock pan, four stock bolts snapped during removal and he had to drill them out. Other than that install was great and simple. He used the PML cork gaskets for this installation. His transmission fluid temperatures dropped about 4 degrees Celsius at maximum running temperature, which is "awesome". Pan sits right flush with the frame and took the estimated 3 1/4 quarts.

2013 Land Cruiser 5.7L 4WD

This 2013 Land Cruiser removed the skid plate for the PML extra capacity transmission pan. The customer decided on Toyota Orange RTV instead of a gasket.

Land Cruiser Series 79 (Australia)

The images below show this pan installed on an Australian Land Cruiser Series 79. In one corner the pan is very close to the drive shaft but there is not contact. Photo was taken with the rear cross member removed.

Land Cruiser Series 200 (Australia)

On Australian Land Cruiser Series 200, the skid plate interferes with the PML pan. The pan fits on the transmission but the skid plate does not provide enough clearance for the larger PML pan. In the pictures shown below, a customer tries adding spacers to the lower the skid plate for more clearance. More space was still needed so this customer was going to look into a custom skid plate.

PML includes a custom cork type gasket, magnetic drain plug and sealing washer, level check hole plug, and new mounting bolts with each pan.

This PML transmission pan works with the stock filter, available from a Toyota dealer or an auto parts store. Baffles on the inside of the PML pan reduce sloshing, direct the flow of fluid toward the pickup, and aid in heat dissipation.

This PML transmission pan will not work with the stock gasket. PML includes a cork gasket, of our own design, for this transmission pan. Some prefer to use silicon "gasket maker" which also will make a great seal. Order additional PML AB60 transmission pan cork gaskets here: PML AB60 Pan Gasket.

The PML gasket will not work with the stock pan.

Drain, Level Check and Optional Temperature Sending Unit Locations

PML located the drain plug on the left side of the pan. This is the driver side on US vehicles. On the side of the pan, the drain plug is less likely to get damaged.

The level check hole is on the right (passenger) side, in the same location as the stock hole. This hole can also be used to fill.

Optionally, PML can drill and tap a 1/8 NPT hole for a temperature sending unit. This would be for an aftermarket temperature gage. There is a custom machining charge.

There are two possible locations on this pan for machining a hole for a temperature sending unit. There is a boss (thick area) on both the driver and the passenger sides of the pan for this. Select the option before adding pan to cart. A plug for the hole is included. The standard size is 1/8 NPT. Check your aftermarket gage to verify the thread specifications for the sending unit before ordering. Call or email if you need a different size.
