This cover fits the rear differential on the following vehicles:
Common gear ratios for the Dodge 9.25 rear axle are 3.21, 3.55 and 3.92.
This PML rear axle cover features drain, level check, and fill holes for easier maintenance. Just below the fill plug, is the level check hole. You fill until the fluid comes out of that hole. Plugs are provided for all three holes. The drain plug is magnetic.
PML includes new hardware with the cover.
We have one of these differential covers on special: Special # 259
Temperature Sending Unit Optional Machining
The cover has a location on face that can be machined for a temperature sensor. The option to have the cover drilled and tapped will need to be ordered over the phone, not on-line, and there is a machining charge. The temperature sending unit will stick out perpendicular to the face of the service. Please call to order or for more information.
Sway and Pan Hard Bars
In 2009, Dodge added pan hard and sway bars behind the differential cover on Ram trucks.
This image shows the stock cover on a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 with the ZF differential.
This PML cover has been installed on many of these newer model year trucks although there is not much space. Dropping the sway bar during installation is helpful. See Installations, below.
Sport models have different suspension. This could change clearance.
Configurations vary so check your vehicle before ordering.

Our customers have installed this PML differential cover on many Ram 1500 trucks as well as Dodge Durangos and Dakotas.
These pictures are from Paul who installed a PML differential cover and low profile transmission pan on his 2006 Dakota, 4x4, 4.7L (PML part number 11078). Thanks to Paul for sending us pictures. See more pictures on our facebook page. You do not have to join facebook to view.
2003 Ram 1500
This installation is on a 2003 Ram 1500 4x4 with the 5.7 Hemi. The owner wanted a custom look so he purchase the as-cast finish and took the PML cover to a powder coater in his area. He selected a texture red powder coat and brushed the powder coating off the top of the fins so they stand out.
2008 Ram 1500
William purchased and installed a PML differential cover and transmission pan for his 2008 Ram 1500 Hemi.

2012 Ram 1500
Dodge began adding a pan hard bar and a sway bar behind the stock cover around the 2009 model year for Ram 1500 trucks. We have heard that it is a close fit with the bars.
Images courtesy of www.ramforumz.com. According to the posting, the axle fore and aft movement is controlled by the upper and lower control arms, so the 3/8 inch clearance is not a problem. You might need an account to read the post.
2013 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi
The as-cast finish PML cover was custom painted red to match the truck. Then the ends of the cooling were exposed for a better look.
The pictures of the cover installed show the placement of the pan hard and sway bars and the clearance to the PML cover.
2014 Ram 1500 Eco Diesel 4x4
PML cover for the Corporate 9 ¼ 12 bolt rear differential installed on a 2014 Ram 1500 Eco Diesel 4x4. Installed by MBRP. In the pictures the truck is suspended and there is still some clearance. When the truck is sitting on its suspension there will be a little more room.
