The flanges are inconsistent in thickness and thinner than usual in some areas. These flanges have thin areas between 0.165 and 0.200 inches. On a normal PML valve cover in this style, the flnge is about 0.300 inches or more.
This is still thicker than stamped steel covers.
PML will provide mounting bolts but you must check the length to be sure they do not bottom out. Do not risk cracking your cylinder head. Installer must verify the fit.
A gasket is available.
One cover has a slightly lighter coloring than the other.
For reference, see our regular Chevy Big Block, 396, 427, 454, 502, CHEVROLET Script, PML Part Number 9737.
This special should fit and function like a regular part.
This is sold as-is and cannot be returned.
