Always check your truck to verify differential and clearance. Check for clearance with wheels straight, left and right and at limits of suspension.

Number of Bolts: 12

PML designed this cover as heavy duty, bolt on replacement for the front differential cover on 2014 and newer Ram 2500 and 2013 and newer Ram 3500 trucks. Ram re–introduced Central Axle Disconnect (CAD) starting with 2013/2014 model trucks to improve gas mileage.

Applications

PML designed this 12 bolt cover for the AAM 9.25 front differential on:

2014 and newer Ram 2500 trucks, including Power Wagon
2013 and newer RAM 3500 trucks

Configurations vary so always check your truck to make sure you have clearance for any larger aftermarket cover. Trucks with the factory air ride suspension may have less clearance.

Ram changed to this 12 bolt American Axle 9 1/4 inch 235mm front to improve the durability, steering and control, according to FourWheeler.com. These new front axles have central axle disconnect.

We have heard that there is a Safety Recall Notice from the NHTSA for the front suspension on Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks. After any modification, the installer or mechanic must verify clearance. See this thread on the Turbo Diesel Register Forum.

2018 Ram 2500 Cummins Diesel 4x4

Nick installed this front and PML rear cover, part number 11147, on his 2018 Ram 2500 Cummins diesel 4x4. Pictures show that there were not any clearance issues with the PML covers and the stock suspension and steering.

2018 Ram 3500 Diesel

2018 Ram 3500 Diesel (Green Truck)

2017 Ram Power Wagon 6.4L Hemi

Sal installed PML front and rear covers on his 2017 Power Wagon 2500 4x4 Hemi. He bought the as-cast finish covers then painted them. He also purchased and installed ARP bolts. He is very happy with the fit and appearance.

2017 Ram Power Wagon 6.4L Hemi

Bill installed PML front and rear covers on his 2017 Power Wagon 2500 4x4 Hemi, which is uses to tow a fifth wheel. He also installed PML rear cover, Part Number 11147.

2017 Ram 3500 Diesel

Nick has a 2017 3500 Dodge Ram 4 wheel drive, single wheel rear axle truck, and he purchased PML front and rear differential covers for it. He reported: "It was an easy install with no problems fits perfect."

2017 Ram 2500 Laramie 4x4 Diesel

Marion purchased PML front and rear covers for his 2017 Ram 2500HD 6.7 L Cummins Laramie. Our thanks to him for sharing pictures and comments from his installation.

He was not able to install the PML rear differential cover with the sway bar in place. He unscrewed four bolts and the sway bar lowered. He purchased this rear cover in the bare metal as-cast finish and found that touching it with oily hands made it look dirty quickly. So he painted the rear cover all black and purchased the front cover in the PML black powder coat finish. For fluid, Marion added 4 1/2 quarts of 75W 90 Synthetic Anti-Slippery Fluid for the rear.

He loves the look and the easiness of replacing the fluid wtih the PML covers.

2015 Ram 3500 With Factory Air Ride Suspension

Troy has a 2015 Ram 3500 SRW Crew Cab 4x4 6.7 AS69RC transmission with the factory air ride suspension. He installed this PML front cover and matching rear cover, part number 10361. After several months, he reported that the cover fits fine and he had no clearance issues.

2014 Ram 3500 Tradesman

Corey installed his cover and matching PML rear cover, Part Number 10361, on his 2014 Ram 3500 Tradesman Crew Cab Short Bed, SRW, 6.7 Diesel, G5 truck. On CumminsForum.com, he posted:

[I]nstalled my PML covers today. Probably should have just put the rear on and forgone the front one but they look good together. The front was a tad harder, took a allen wrench and ground about half an inch off of the short end and it would fit under the front bar that goes across the front top of the diff cover ( had to come in from the top). Other then that it was pretty painless.

Both are thick guys, thought quality was really good.

2014 Ram 3500

2014 Ram 2500

Andrew Lowe installed this cover on his 2014 Project Bloodhound Ram 2500 4x4 6.7 Turbo Diesel. He also installed PML RFE transmission pan, part number 10304 and PML rear cover, part number 10361. Andrew reported there was plenty of room in the front for the larger PML cover.

2014 Ram 2500 4x4 6.7

Chris installed both PML front and rear differential covers on on his 2014 Ram 2500 truck with the coil suspension.

PML ships new mounting bolts, fill hole plug and a magnetic drain plug with each cover.

Rear Differential Cover

PML makes a corresponding rear end cover for these Ram trucks. See:

Gasket

Customers have told us that Mopar Part Number 68216204AA is the gasket for this differential. If your truck has a difference gasket part number, please contact us.

To use the reusable factory gasket with this cover, make sure the gasket is clean and free of any nicks. If there is a nick in the gasket, that is where you'll get a leak.

This PML differential cover works well with RTV gasket material. RTV is a type of silicon rubber and it comes in a tube. There are several brands, such as Permatex, and these are readily available at automotive stores like Pep Boys and AutoZone.

Optional Temperature Sending Unit Machining

This part has an undrilled boss for an aftermarket temperature sensor.

Optionally, PML can drill and tap for a temperature sending unit at the 8 o clock position on the passenger side of the cover. This would be a 1/8 NPT hole and would include a plug.
